The "Labor, Health and Education Economics" cluster is composed by researchers with a common interest in empirical methods to identify causal relations. Members of this research area use econometrics methods, experimental or natural-experiment studies, in applied microeconomics, labour, education and health. The main interests are in unemployment, inequality, labour market and financial market interactions, institutions, immigration, gender gap. Education economics covers new topics such as peer-effects in education, education reforms, international test (PISA and PIAAC), returns to education and education differentials. Health and Immigration topics range from empirical models of migration and effects of migration on natives, health decisions, health and work.
Group members have published in international journals such as Review of Economic Studies, Economic Journal, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of International Economics, Economic Policy, as well as in top field journals such as Economics of Education Review, Journal of Health Economics, Health Economics, Small Business Economics.
