Welcome to the PhD in Economics of the Universities of Milan and Pavia.

The PhD in Economics is an inter-university doctoral program offered by the University of Milan and the University of Pavia.
The primary goal of the program is to produce outstanding research economists.
The PhD program is promoted and organized by the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods (DEMM) of the University of Milan and the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Pavia that were ranked among the best Italian Economics Departments by the National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes (ANVUR) in February 2017. Faculty members from the Department of Environmental Science and Policy of the University of Milan and the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Pavia also contribute to the program activities.

Recruitment Policy

Admission to the program is through competition. We welcome applications from students of all nationalities; students currently enrolled come from six different countries. We are particularly interested in young candidates with a sound research project in one of the topics proposed by Faculty members.
