His research interests are in the fields of inequality and redistribution, political economy, economics of education, public economics. He participated in several national and international research projects, and he is local PI of the PRIN "New approaches to political economy: from methods to data". He received the Aldi Hagenaar memorial award from the Luxembourg Income Study in 2010, and the SIEP prize from the Italian Society of Public Economics in 2009 and 2014. He published several papers in international peer reviewed journals and chapters in books for distinguished publishers.
