He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université Catholique of Louvain and a Master in Economics from Bocconi University. He is also a Research Fellow at Centro Studi Luca d'Agliano (LdA). His main research interests are in International Trade, Firms, Migration. 
His work has been published in journals such as the Economic Journal, the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, and Journal of International Business Studies among others
