He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Warwick University and a Research Doctorate from the University of Pavia. He is also Research Fellow of the Bank of Finland. Previously, he was Associate Professor (2001-2007) and Lecturer (1999-2001) at the University of Pavia. In 1998-1999, he was Jean Monnet fellow at the European University Institute. His main research interests are: monetary economics, DSGE models of business cycle fluctuations, monetary and fiscal policy interaction, inflation dynamics, and expectations driven fluctuations. He has been Deutsche Bundesbank Foundation guest professor, Freie Universitat Berlin, and he held visiting positions in many academic and Central Bank institutions, such as: Bank of International Settlements, Banque de France, Bundesbank, Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He published his work in Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Review of Economic Dynamics.
