Franco Donzelli

Franco Donzelli is Professor of Economics at the University of Milan. He obtained his Laurea degree in Economia Politica at Bocconi University, Milan in 1973 and his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Cambridge in 1990.

He is Professor of Economics at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy of the University of Milan. Over the years he has been teaching Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Welfare Economics, and History of Economic Thought in various undergraduate courses, master’s programs, and PhD programs at the Universities of Milan, Paris-Ouest, York, and at the Université Catholique de Louvain. He was a component of the Senate of the University of Milan from July 1, 2012, to September 30, 2015. He directed the Department of Economics, Business, and Statistics of the University of Milan from November 1, 2010, to May 20, 2012, and the newly-founded Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods from May 21, 2012, to December 31, 2015. His research activity has chiefly concerned the following fields: general equilibrium and disequilibrium theory, game theory, general dynamical systems theory and economic applications, rational choice theory, uncertainty and information theory, methodology of economics and the social sciences, history of economic thought (modern and contemporary).
